December 2008

Rainfall was well above normal for November which really helped our 2ha of reworked block. Coming from 10 year old Merlot to replanting with Sauvignon Blanc, this rain has seen them speeding up the wire. Shoot thinning is nearly finished in the reds and by 1st December all varieties have at least 10% flowering.

Wine events for this month were:

Bruce Rock Show and 3 day road trip to spread the kerfuffle around from Katanning to Merredin

Margaret River Wine Show & Cheese Night being the debut for our new 2007 Shiraz Viognier
and 2007 Cabernet Merlot with a fantastic response from all tasters

The WA Fest held on the Bell Tower foreshore in Perth with our Archer's Drop white port stealing the show at this event, served with ice and lime - the perfect refresher for a hot day

Wine tastings are in progress from Kirup to Bunbury to Smiths Beach with new retailers ready to jump on board and cause a kerfuffle for us!

Last weekend of November was a road trip to Albany taking in Mt. Barker, Denmark, Pemberton, Northcliffe and everywhere in between.

BLOWING OUR TRUMPET!

At the 2008 Macquarie Margaret River Wine Show we received a SILVER MEDAL for our 2007 Shiraz Viognier and a BRONZE MEDAL for our 2007 Cabernet Merlot.

Til next time.....keep causing a kerfuffle!
